Our Services
-
Endodontic treatment, also known as root canal treatment, may be necessary if you are experiencing discomfort or if your tooth is suffering from deep decay or an infection. The goal of our treatment is to eliminate the decay, the infection, and to achieve patient comfort and save your tooth.
-
The goal of root canal treatment is to save your tooth for a lifetime. However, as with any medical procedure, the tooth may not heal as expected, leading to pain and infection again. Endodontic retreatment is one possible option to address a secondary infection and resolve pain. CBCT (3D X-ray imaging) technology and a detailed consultation will allow Dr. Weidenfeld to figure out why your original treatment did not work and help us understand how to achieve a favorable outcome.
-
Tooth pain can often feel debilitating. If you are experiencing pain or signs of an acute infection we will work to get you into the office as soon as possible to get you feeling better quickly.
-
The best treatment is often no treatment. Dr. Weidenfeld believes treatment should only be performed if it might truly be helpful to the patient.
-
Sometimes a non-surgical procedure alone cannot save your tooth. In this case, the doctor may recommend surgery. Endodontic surgery has many benefits, and allows the doctor to address a persistent infection by removing the end of a tooth root or even a cracked root. Endodontic surgery can also provide access to damaged root surfaces and allow biopsy of the root infection.
-
Sometimes damage can develop within teeth that requires special procedures to repair it. Dr. Weidenfeld has the expert training and experience to handle these complex repairs.
-
Teeth that have been “banged” (concussed), fractured or displaced (luxated) require special care and treatment planning. Dr. Weidenfeld has special training to handle this type of treatment.
